Parq is a design hotel that happens to run a casino, not the other way around — a glass complex wedged beside BC Place downtown, wrapping a bright modern floor in two towers, a run of good restaurants and a green rooftop six storeys up.
The floor is bright and well-spaced rather than sprawling — clean sightlines, a proper high-limit salon and a slot hall that reads more lounge than arcade. It's built for a good night out, not a twelve-hour grind, and it's better for the restraint.
Being right downtown, it pulls a lively mix of locals and visitors and hums on weekends without ever tipping into chaos. If you want a sharper, quieter game, the high-limit room is where to settle in.
You pick your mood at the door: the JW Marriott is the polished big-brand tower, the DOUGLAS the boutique one with warmer wood-and-plant Pacific-Northwest rooms. Both are among the best hotel rooms in Vancouver, casino or not, and I'd take the DOUGLAS for a weekend.
Ask for a high floor facing the water or the North Shore mountains — the skyline does half the work — and trust the double glazing, which keeps stadium nights well outside the glass. The only real gripe is that the best views cost a clear premium.

You're a few minutes' walk from the seawall, Yaletown and the stadium, so the place works as a base for the whole city, not just a casino stop. Come hungry and leave the car in the valet.
For a downtown property of this quality the value is fair, and sharpest midweek — you're partly paying for a location you simply can't better, dropped in the middle of Vancouver minutes from the water.
Treat it as a city-break hotel with a casino attached and it makes complete sense. Book two nights, barely touch the car, and let the rooftop and the seawall earn their keep.
